CATrain V 1.30: This edition offers some new features: - The layout size can be adjusted by re-sizing the main window up to 64 x 44 rail elements. This allows to create and control large and complex layouts, when your screen adapter has a sufficiently large display area. - 2 new track elements have been added: - the dual diagonal track, to improve the quality and the density of the layout representation, - the 45° side track end, for the same reasons. - Un symbol has been added for controlling independent electro-mechanical devices. Such a device, not directly related to the traffic, may be, for example, a lighting control relay, a car unhooking device, a crane ... Those articles can only be manually controlled. - A "starter" button has been added to the Power_On switch, when CATrain is used to control a "real" layout. This feature is useful to make the cold start of the loco engines more efficient. Starting the traffic in automatic mode on a layout which has not been used for several days is rather delicate. The cold engines start slowly and some trains may lose the synchronization with the CATrain computer control. The "Starter" function solves this problem. When the starter is activated, the electrical power applied to the loco engines is raised to improve the motion at slow speed. After 5 minutes or so, when the user sees that the "overboost" action is no more necessary, he must de-activate the starter operation. - The DLLs "CMRKCTRL", "CMRECTRL" and "CDUMCTRL" are no more supported. They are replaced by a single DLL called "CMRXCTRL.DLL" which ensures the dialog between CATrain and the Marklin 6051 interface or the compatible system "Edits" from Elektor. The development and the tuning of this new DLL is the result of the cooperation with active CATrain users. I thank them for their help and for the tests that they have performed. Enjoy, and have a look at the file "evol_e.txt" to see what is planified for the next releases. Joel Bouchat
