PROGRAM LONG DESCRIPTION: Not only does FileWrangler ZIP and UNZIP files, it can handle all of your other file management tasks as well. It copies, moves, renames, deletes, etc. FileWrangler lets you view the contents of files while you browse through the folders on your system. It can view many image formats, play AVI's and WAV's, view text or even hexadecimal. An on-board text editor is ideal for composing short notes, touching up html, or editing system configuration files. Its ZIP features make archiving files as easy as dragging and dropping files to and from file folders. Plus, you can also view zip contents, span disks, make self-extracting EXE's, add password protection, etc. FileWrangler allows you to open several file lists at once, and you can view files in either tree view or list view modes. The interface may also be configured to sport document file drawers, which allow you to only view file types that you actually need to see. FileWrangler also gives you security options to hide file types, folders and drives from file manager users, as well as to prevent access to various file management functions. There are also options to Wipe files on delete, encrypt/decrypt files, etc. DOES THIS ARCHIVE INCLUDE A VERSION COMPILED FOR WIN 3.x? In most cases you cannot simply copy the software onto your hard drive. The files on the CursorArts distribution disks are stored in a special compressed form to save space. The Setup program is the only way to insure that FileWrangler is properly unpacked and installed. To install FileWrangler, follow the steps below: 1. Start Windows. 2. If you received FileWrangler on diskette, place it into the floppy drive now. If you downloaded FileWrangler in archived format, use PKUNZIP to uncompress the files to a working directory on your hard disk. 3. Activate the Windows Program Manager or Explorer. 4. Select "Run..." from the "Start" menu. 5. In the "Command Line" field enter one of the following: - If you placed the FileWrangler diskette into drive A:, type: A:\SETUP - If you placed the FileWrangler diskette into drive B:, type: B:\SETUP - If you downloaded FileWrangler, type: C:\DIRNAME\SETUP (Remember to replace DIRNAME with the name of the directory where you uncompressed FileWrangler's files.) 6. Follow the instructions on the screen. ---------------------------------------- UNINSTALLING / REMOVING FROM YOUR SYSTEM ---------------------------------------- If you decide that you no longer wish to use FileWrangler, or if you decide not to use FileWrangler beyond the 30-day evaluation period, you need only to use the UNINSTAL.EXE program placed in FileWrangler's directory folder to remove its files from your system (or use the Windows 95 ADD/REMOVE feature of its Control Panel). To remove any shortcuts to FileWrangler which you may have placed on your Windows desktop, simply delete these by highlighting the link icon and pressing your Delete key. To remove shortcuts on the Windows Start menu, use your file manager to delete the FILEWRANGLER directory folder which is normally located inside the \WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS folder. ------------------------------------- CUSTOMER SERVICES & TECHNICAL SUPPORT ------------------------------------- CursorArts Company provides its registered software customers with free technical support.
