=========== ==== CD-R.ecover v1.0 =========== ==== copyright 1997 Scritch Productions For those of you that own CD-Rs and can't pay for real software that has this ability. This program will send a CD-R recovery command to your SCSI CD-R drive to recover damaged tracks on your media. This procedure has a surprisingly high success rate, meaning you can use the CD to back up some more data, possibly even salvaging some already written data! It can also close tracks that have been mistakenly left open, and therefore seem to be bad tracks, when actually, all the data is there. note: ASPI interface required, either with DOS drivers or Windows 95 drivers. Only tested with Windows 95 & Adaptec DOS drivers. NOTE2: So far, I've had little success with this in Windows NT. Sorry. If people want it to run in NT, I may code a win32 version. operation: --------- Just run it, and follow the directions. Please note that you need to know what ID your CD-R drive is at, and what track is the damaged one. If you enter a track that isn't damaged, this won't work, unless the problem is a finished track that hasn't been closed -- in which case it is closed for you. Simple enough?
